Graham Rose - Film Director
Graham Rose is one of the UK's best known and awarded commercials directors. He has enjoyed great success in London through his own company Rose Hackney Barber for the past twenty years working with top agencies in London, Europe and the U.S. winning countless prizes; the Cannes Palm D'or for best in festival, many Gold, Silver and Bronze Lions, three times winner of the overall best ITV Award at the British Television Awards, skip loads of Gold, Silver and Bronze Arrows and four Silver D&AD Pencils.
Graham is famous for his performance and comedy work on classic campaigns such as Hamlet Cigars, Vauxhall Astra and Corsa, Allied Dunbar, Heineken, Holsten Pils and more recently Weetabix 'Black Beauty', Walls 'Psycho-Dog' campaign and the sinister 'Dawn of the Dead' zombie parody for Lucozade.
His latest venture into film is a thirty minute short 'mRs mEiTLemleHr' written and directed by Graham himself as a demo piece for feature and television projects. It is a black comedy drama set in an alternative reality which reveals the bizarre escape of Hitler and Borman from the Berlin Fuehrenbunker in 1945! It was screened at the Venice Film Festival in 2003 and during the following 12 months picked up many awards from film festivals across the U.K., Europe and the U.S. finally making it onto the shortlist at the Academy Awards. It has since been broadcast on Film Four, and specially screened at the Berlin Jewish Film Festival in 2004/05 and 07.
Graham's humour, performance and dialogue work is wide and varied ranging from quietly observed reality, cinematic parody and broad comedy to the occasional glimpse into the dark side.
