Film Jobs

Film jobs are not as easy to obtain as jobs in other creative fields as there are usually fewer publicised job vacancies than there are people to fill them. Someone who wants to work in film, will usually start off as a runner before making their way up to the position that they want to specialise in.

Unlike having a qualification that guarantees a position in that field, working in film is slightly more difficult to penetrate. It is more of being seen and heard then applying for a post with a CV. Picking up the phone and calling production companies or studio facilities and finding out about upcoming films can give one a greater chance of finding the right personnel and the right job within the industry. Some jobs can be created for the right candidate purely on what they can offer to a film than necessarily filling a vacancy.
