Many music producers work directly for major record label companies or music studios. There are some that work freelance, on a project-by-project basis. Another great way to gain insights and experience is to intern in the production department at one of the major recording studios. During an internship, not only will you obtain “hands-on” work experience, you can also get a feel if this is truly your professional calling.
