SARD

SARD appeared as a project at the dawn of the new millennium when Catalina Sard decided to use her extensive training and professional experience to create her own collections. To do this, she surrounded herself with a group of professionals from the worlds of business, art and image. Today, SARD collections have become a reality within the fashion world.

SARD comes from an elaborate and innovative design in which the cut of the dress and its details must always surprise. SARD dresses are faithful to this creative process as a result of our ability to adapt the patterns to a very demanding design, to the meticulousness with which we choose the components - primarily noble materials - and the standard of quality that we demand in dressmaking.

The personality of each and every SARD dress creates a harmonious whole, whose coherence defines the SARD concept, an exclusive and different universe.

Catalina Sard was born in Son Severa on the Balearic Islands. She trained as a designer at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Llotja, Barcelona, and the prestigious Parsons School for Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Well aware of the importance of understanding all the steps in the garment creation process, she put the finishing touches to her training with an MA in Textile Technology at AITEX, graduating as a pattern maker.

She spent most of her professional career at Burberry Ltd. where she worked until 2003. During her time in New York, she had the opportunity to work with leading international companies such as Giorgio Armani, M.C. Group or Oscar de la Renta. At the very beginning, she also worked with Antonio Miró y Pulligan International.

Her work has won numerous awards, of which perhaps the 1st Prize Spain of the VIII National Smirnoff Fashion Awards and the MTV interview for Young European Designers of the Year are the best examples.
